We are providing a mentorship program for students in Santa Barbara Unified School District who take on the challenge of a Science Fair Project. Participants will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of scientists or engineers to brainstorm their science project ideas, receive feedback about their experiments and data analysis, and practice their presentations and Q&A sessions before entering the Santa Barbara Science Fair.
What's the commitment from volunteers?
- You can choose to present a few project ideas to students in mid to late October. Students who choose your project ideas will be under your mentorship. Some students may bring their own ideas and will be matched with mentors in their field.
- 30-minute weekly advising meeting with all mentees, in-person or online, from November 2021 - March 2022.
