2019~2020 school year
Isla Vista Engineering and Design Club
Dancing Robot Production!
We have just learned that UCSB is shutting down at least through the end of April due to the concern of Coronavirus. More information will be available soon and please do not donate to the program until we are sure the program can continue. If canceled, we will refund your donation unless you instruct us otherwise.
The Engineering and Design Club is back! This program is organized by Youth Innovation Club, a local nonprofit organization, in collaboration with UCSB Mechanical Engineering Department, UCSB Society of Women Engineers, and UCSB Los Ingenieros. The program will be supervised by IV School’s computer specialist, Mr. Pigato. Students participating in this program will work with engineering students from UCSB. Together, they will design robots which will be built by the engineering students. This year, all participants from IV will also design and build a 3D object that matches the theme of their robot. This is a chance for their imagination to shine, while learning to design, prototype, and work with some basic electronics and coding. Midway through the program, IV students will visit the Mechanical Engineering Lab at UCSB. At the end of the program, the completed robots will be brought to IV School for a robot flash mob dance for all to see! The Robots will also be showcased at the UCSB Engineering Design Expo. Check out last year's program here.
