This is our most intensive intervention program, targeting students who are struggling to engage during classes.
Students who are struggling academically need intervention. However, one of the challenges in working with adolescent students that are struggling academically is that they are very timid and unsure of how to ask for help. More often, they need to build a bond with someone they trust before they can open up. Our intent is to have the mentors work with the same small group of students throughout the year on classroom activities. The program emphasizes growth and progress of academic skills centered around the science class.
